got a manual, got a pic, tried to put it on, says does not support this kind of file, tried to put it on where it says upload file,same again.why cannot they make it easy, just browse and upload pic.i can email the pic, but nobody giveing out email address then perhaps they could upload for me.

says does not support this kind of file

what's the file suffix ??
eg. .jpg .tiff .png .somethingelse

a .jpg file is the best bet to use
most computers will have the means to convert any image to a .jpg file
( and resize it if needed )

regarding email .. if the site won't accept 'file type' .. ..
chances are .. sending via email might be problematic for the recipient

~~~
is your diesel an L-series per chance ??
( sais 1998 diesel in your info box )
just looked its a bit oblong, nothing in the middle of it, more like a steam engine if that makes sence.
** there's a 'low coolant' Amber dashboard light on petrol models that looks like that ** ..
so .. wondering if the L-series diesel has the same .. ( td4 does not )
on the td4 .. the only similar one might be the 'battery charge' .. Red ..
but that symbol looks like a battery .. .. not a steam engine
'n no .. i've not found any references on the internet regarding L-series dash lights
~~
** that's according to an owners manual from a 2006 freelander
your first post suggested you didnt have a manual, now you have one??????????
what does it say?????
re 'no1birdman's dashboard pic attached :
left to right .. on rev dial
battery charge / air bags / oil pressure
left to right .. below dials ..
hill descent / hand brake / glow plugs / *engine management*
* ?? i.e. am guessing what that last one is
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
on the td4 the same one appears as Amber with an ( ! ) in the middle

from the owners manual ( 2006 ) :

" Illuminates briefly when the starter switch is turned to position 'II'.
If it remains on, or illuminates at any other time, the engine management system
requires attention. Stop the vehicle as soon as safety permits and switch off the engine
for at least 30 seconds. If the warning indicator illuminates again after the engine
is restarted, it is permissible to continue driving ( with reduced engine power ),
but qualified assistance must be sought as soon as possible, to prevent potential engine
damage. "

Could have sworn I'd seen this somewhere before. Oh now I remember, post #2.

The colour didn't throw anyone. It might have something to do with how you put it across. Ie. have a 98 diesel and wonder what the RED light that looks like an ENGINE means. Bit like when you said you have a manual is this gearbox, tv, cook book or a bloody Haynes. Dunno maybe we should assume you have the LR vehicle manual for a 101 Forward control.

Ahhhh that group of lights doesn't exist on mine, Facelift lamps went inside the dials.
