deep water and windows open for a full internal clean dirty water might make it worse depending on how clean it is now
 
get yersel wan o them wee pressure washers.. ah got mine in b an q reduced.. works a treat inside an oot.......
 
this isnt your normal everyday dirt , this is that white/tan ground in muck that only becomes visible after you wash it.
ive tried every thing from cillit bang to a scrubbing brush.

seriously, my workin truck is a 90 which spends its life farming and transporting livestock etc... i used b and q patio cleaner on a scrubbin brush then pressure washed the dash an seats an cabin etc... came up like new. Did it in the summer mind!!!
 
try caustic soda, mr muscle cold oven cleaner, spray it on, have a cig, scrub it with a nail brush then wash it off ;)

i was goin to try paraffin but decided against it.
works a treat as an angine de-greaser though.

My dashboard cleaning tips
First use a Blow torch to remove old paint then angle grind off any odd lumps
then use a power sander to make is all smooth like a babys bum.
Finally under coat and the top coat.

Get a real dashboard and not one of them soft Puffey ones.:D
