Hi,

There's a problem with the central locking rear o/s on our 2002 D2 TD5.

It doesn't unlock on the key fob. The internal lock/unlock button has no effect at all. You have to open the door from inside.

Some movement can be felt/heard when you press the fob to unlock. It locks fine.

I've tried a salvage replacement, but the same happens.

Now, the salvage part may be wrong. I can check this by plugging into the other side (salvage part does have an extra pin to our one?).

However, I'm dreading the possibility that there's a loom problem.....

Any thoughts?

VERY VERY VERY common for d2 door locks to fail.

It's a BMW sourced unit and the problem affects all BMW, mini, freelander, range rover l322 and d2.

Would be very very surprised if there was a problem elsewhere.

If ever we have a door lock problem on the above vehicles i simply order locks without looking at the problem first it's simply that common a fault.

Cheers, HTH
