so that would explain why the R reg box was beefier than the N reg box when we opened them upWasn't it this very problem for which a cross-drilled main-shaft was made?
well after many hours fooking about, stripping parts off to find a faulty one we finally realised today that the main spline into the transfer box had been completely stripped of it's splines, so we put the spare one i had from my old disco, and the box will go back in next week.
