it seems as im on the cards I spend a lot of my time putting subbys work right.i keep telling my boss to stop a retention from them which he hasn't done yet

the good subbys get paid the same as the **** ones so wheres the incentive for them to do a good job.

I even heard one of them last week saying mate just get it on the floor if it gets snagged rich will sort it out anyway:mad:

so who else has to sort others **** out?

heres the subbys work

Your right about stopping them a percentage till the job's signed off. Only way to make em take notice is to hit em in the pocket..

exactly what I told him..10% of every invoice until the works signed off.

if I sort it out they don't realise the hassle it is to redo it,cos they aint had to rip it all off and redo it..

hitting the wallet is the only way forward I reckon

carillion are ott on the snagging so if it aint right it don't get passed

I inspect the vast majority of work and if our floor layer had done that, he wouldn't be used again. Simple.

That's dog rough, some people just don't give a f**k about quality, guess whoever laid that never did an apprenticeship?
See plenty of sub standard (read **** poor) work when snagging of services.

that actually makes me mad seeing how someone who's sposed to do a goodjob then gets paid for that **** :(

if we'd done that on site once we wunt have had the opportunity to do it again

yep..they seem to fcuk work up and then move onto the nxt job each time getting paid.

the good subbys of which there are a couple get paid the same as the ones who throw it on the floor and don't give a fcuk..the boss uses them because hes so busy.ive tried telling him to turn work down and use decent guys to do the work he has got

how are they still working?...got to get them to put it right,WITHOUT PAY

Sorted some right ****e out, been at a customers factory 2am fixing ####witt's best efforts at normal rate:fencing: by the throat tends to get point across.
24 volt plc doesn't like 1000 volt mega across it:mad: and the ****s still put a bill in:eek:

brings a new perspective to head banging eh...

for the last few years of my work, I was working opposite a bloke I`d known & worked wiv fer years in engineering production.
20 years younger then me, was fast, but if I say it meself,
I done a much better finished job.
I was proud of my finished work, coz I put me into doing it..

no one questioned why I was slightly slower per finish machined part, then the blue eyed boy on the day shift.. ;)

ive been on this site for the past 7 months got pulled away by the boss last week for 3 days to go to Twickenham to you guess it sort out other peoples work.
the site foreman was on the phone to my boss each day asking when the fcuk I was coming back as things only seem to get done/sorted when im there..i was actually pleased that the hard work you do put in actually does get noticed.

some of the other guys just think im ott but ultimately its me that takes the flack for there ****.

We operate a simple policy-customer completely happy or removal of goods and full refund-simple

""some of the other guys just think im ott but ultimately its me that takes the flack for there ****.""

nothing to be ashamed about, being professional, but being a target for others ****e should mean more promotion/ wages, coz yer betererer then the ****e subbys..

I spend 5 hours today jet washing the ****e left on the concrete surrounding my bungalow after various subbys done lots of work here..
thats after getting head office management & local councillors here to show them whats happening during the work schedule.
the last subbys were pebble dashers throwing on polor white marble chips,
but threw the fixing "cement" just about all over the place too.

it was dark by the time I finished, but just had to splash me landie wiv the jet wash...oh well, the wheels looked clean when wet..

My company uses "partners" a lot.

I spent 6 months in Belfast and Dublin last year sorting out the mess they'd left behind.

****es me off no end.
