Yep, think you are right, going to leave it alone.....someone else has been there before me, as the Sensor wires have been soldered. I have check the joins and they are fine, though this could be throwing up the fault.
Was the shield around the cps wires repaired properly ? If not its possible the ecu is picking up electrical noise from the starter motor on cranking - setting a fault in the ecu every time you start it.If that is the case a good wrapping with tin foil as an experiment will prove it.Clear the fault and try again.
If it were the starter motor causing it there would be a fault logged for ANY code reader to see and once the engine got away from the starter the ecu would see a decent signal from the cps and use it.
