Keith - that is a superb idea! Off to the garden centre I go........
Do you happen to know if the transfer box filler is similarly awkward? If so I guess I need two sprayers one for ATF the other for gearbox oil.....
Cheers
Jerry
Later model P38's didn't have a dipstick - the filler is in a stupid place under the car in an awkward place to get at....Hi. Don't know if this would apply to you but I just added fluid to my RRC auto gearbox by simply putting a funnel to the mouth of the fluid dipstick tube and adding it that way.
I added a schrader valve to the sprayer, just a squeeze on the airline trigger and the oil moves. It comes out on it's own though I do have an mains electric pump but that takes ages.I use a reversible 12v fuel pump from hobbystores mounted in a diy wooden case with an old motorcycle battery, I fitted the switch at the end of a coil wire to so I can operate the pump remotely. You can use it to remove or add fluids.
I got one of these yesterday to do my transfer and diff oils.

As they're so cheap, buying two would make sense, spray one black for extraction (oil fluid) duties and keep the other for new fluids.

Yup, manual gearbox on mine.... so different fluids!
Cheers,

I ran into the same issue a few weeks ago when I moved the gearbox cooler and I thought while I'm under and covered in crud I may as well change all the oil and replace the filter.
I used an old jar and some flexi tubing sealed with silicone to fill mine - here is a diagram
I think you would have to use much thicker tube than I used to pass manual gearbox oil through!
but it's easy to use - can use your lungs, or if you're lazy like me - your airline ;-)

Could make this with a car tyre valve for the air inlet, you would be able to connect and use a foot pump/bike pump/or electric pump then for those with out an airline.
