Hey all,

I have the 2.5 4cyl petrol, just noticed I have a crack in the rocker cover,I must have over tightened it. From making some enquiries the only ones you can get are genuine parts and cost 200! Does anyone know differently or a place to get them cheaper/anyone breaking?

Why not get it welded up

... Or you could use some 2-part aluminium repair epoxy.

Clean it all down as if you were going to weld it and then use the epoxy to bond the crack together.

It works!

A repair epoxy like liquid steel should do the trick - just clean up thoroughly, key the surface and leave a good 24 hours to really harden (I know these products have 15 min claims!) before refitting

I wouldn't use liquid steel on aluminium!

Fair comment OSD - think when I used it before it was just epoxy rather than containing 'real steel'

you didnt say which 4 cyl 2.5 you have, i have a 19j rocker cover spare

Aha, I have the 2.5 na petrol 4cyl, do they use the same rocker cover? I don't know :S does anyone know?

If it is the same I'll buy it from you badger?

Hi mark, tied up with mine atm, give it a Google to see if they match, I would say they are the same but would rather we're sure first
