Can anyone tell me how much modification will be required to put a county body onto a hitop chassis please? I am planning to do this but don't want to take on more than I can handle. Thanks.

Sorry - basically a pick-up. That is what I know them by but I guess the name can be misleading??????????? What is the correct term - pick-up?

Hi-Cap as in high capacity pickup I wouldn't have thought that it should be too difficult. The chassis are all the same for the model of year (and still very similar now). You'll have to fit some outriggers for the door pillers and then get all the bits you need. It'll more than likely work out cheaper and easier to swap and actually get one though.

Yeah - one o them!!! I think Hi-Top acterlly refers to a type of soft top for the back. But I could be wrong again...................

Sorry for not responding properly earlier Pos - had to go out. Thanks for your info. Got a good deal on the Hi-Cap chassis tho. Got everything else I need from the Defender and I don't mind fitting a couple of outriggers - they seem to need replacing on most county chassis offered for sale anyway
