It would be nice if money wasn't an issue.

Question to the OP. What are looking at doing with what ever veichle you end up getting? Im not sure what your trying to get at with this thread.
hiya, if it's creature comforts you want, then have a look for a discovery, they basically do all that a defender will, but with all goodies, you can get disco 2's at a very resonable price now, especially the v8, as the diesel is more sought after, maybe something to consider, good luck with it, martynBefore I joined this Forum I have always liked the P38 Range Rover and thought I would look more seriously into getting one.
So I bought the Land Rover Monthly magazine because they had a full review of the diesel version.
But the amount of problems etc they said it could or will get kind of put me off.
Now I have since done a lot more research around this Forum and other sites online into Land Rover/Range Rover's.
However I am not a fan of diesels and the only other choice is a V8 or the 2.5 petrol unit which looks like something out of the last century.
What I would like to do is get into some off roading, I don't mean the real serious stuff like having a Bowler but doing Tyro's or the next level up (can't remember what it's called).
I have a couple of friends who have Land Rover's and they keep saying get one.
But to be honest they are really basic inside, no creature comforts which I have come to enjoy and appreciate.
I do less than a thousand miles a year in my own car, so having a 4x4 is no problem to me.
If I travel any further than where I live, I go by train.
But everyone has said if you want to do some off roading get yourself a Land Rover of some sort because they are the best at it.
Then if I want to belong to a Land Rover Club it has to have all Land Rover bits and so it goes on.
I like one thing, reliabilty, if it isn't, it gets sold.
I love cars, lorries, buses, bikes in fact anything with an engine in including lawn mowers....lol
My late Father was real petrol head, hated diesels hence my dislike of them.
Hence I thought is there any other petrol engine choice for them?
If I am correct the very first Rover V8 wasn't an english engine, it was from Buick.![]()

alway's happy to help, good huntingI do like my creature comforts, power steering, electic windows, a decent heater and so on.....lol
A Disco 2?
Yes, that is something to think about.
Okay I will look into one of those then, might even sell my car and just keep the one vehicle.
Thank you Martyn.![]()
