ok i have read loads of posts in the search and i have not found 1 the same as mine 
(iam sure someone will find 1 )
back ground had car 4 mths done a few 1000's miles but have had this had this problem happen twice about 400miles apart.
The problem 1st time was in a carpark temp was all ok i was slow moveing trying to find a space when i saw steam on the lower edge of winscreen pulled in to bay temp still only about 1/2 way (as norm) i stopped turn engine off open bonnet and checked coolant level still on max as i was looking at it i watched it drain to empty seamed to come from low down on the back of the block all over the rd.
i let it cool for a hr topped back up all ok checked oil not water showing.
about 3 weeks later around 10.30pm so it was not warm at a mcD drive thur same again.
any thoughts??. thought air lock but tryed bleeding all seams on heaters blowing hot and iam not building up any pressure in coolant bottle
