Anyone had issues draining the coolant before? Need advice please. I have a 2012 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto, right hand drive in Australia.

Coolant drain plug is in the usual place near bottom of radiator / passenger side (see image below). I've attached a hose on the left and then twist the valve 90 degrees anti-clockwise to drain the old coolant, but no fluid comes out. I've opened and closed the valve around 5 times now but still nothing. Another forum post said to pull it or rattle it around somehow. I can't possibly see how you can do that, considering it's already a bitch to just turn 90 degrees anti-clockwise.

In the video look at about 2.08 and you will see the engine block drain plug being used.

If it's anything like the FL1 TD4 radiator, then it's not just a 90deg turn. You need to unscrew it a fair bit.

The rad drain needs to be almost completely removed to open to get coolant to flow. There were a couple of different manufacturers of rads too, and not all had the drain hose connector drilled. On those, the plug has a thinned section which drains the coolant instead, but it needs unscrewing several turns.
When I drained the coolant on mine, I simply pulled the bottle hose off, as they're on quick connectors.
