So I've replaced head gasket, thermostat, checked hoses, tightened everything and recently, replaced a wrecked water pump. Still I find that the coolant level gradually reduces with no obvious sign of a leak. Slow but annoying.
One issue is the long pipe from expansion tank to top of radiator has gone brittle and snapped off at the rad. I had repaired this with a length of tube. Checking on it today, I could see coolant seeping out at the top of rad and thought it was my repair failing. Turns out I have coolant leaking out of the screw hole in the top of the rad, used to hold the viscous fan surround in place. WTF? Really? a feckin screw hole! I've put some sealer in it and am waiting for it to dry to see if It will hold, but I am annoyed. What kind of design is it where a screw hole can be the cause of failure of the radiator? Mad!
Anyone know where I can get a replacement pipe and a cheap radiator?
