Found a white, 2-pin connector under the steering wheel with purple/brown and purple/yellow wires.

Any idea what it is?

Will have a look at diagrams but from memory clutch switch on manuals.

If you look at diagrams codes for those colours would be Purple/Brown PN and Purple/Yellow PY. Or other way round if you have main colour and tracer arse about face. But sure that will be it.
