A quick question for all of you ICE experts out there....

Having now obtained the correct changer for the head unit (thanks Norbet), and having pulled the R770 from the dash, I notice it has a spare 10 pin ISO connector at the top of the connector block.

So far so good, but the lead from the changer has an 8 pin mini ISO connector on it. I'd like to think that one plugs into the other but I can't see an obvious way of doing it. Does anybody know better?

Otherwise I presume I need a mini ISO to standard ISO convertor? Anyone know if you can get one from Halfords or similar?

sorry mate to hijack this reply,i see you have a freelander towing a twin axle van with fixed bunks i too have a freelander and also want to get a van with fixed bunks and an end bathroom can you tell me how does it tow .

No worries (although I'd still really appreciate it if someone could answer my question!)

The van is indeed a six berth with fixed bunks at the side and an end washroom. It is by far the best layout we have yet found with our three children aged between 9 and 2. The Freelander pulls it easily and will hold 60 MPH up hill and down dale (not bad pulling 1600kg). It is much better than the Galaxy it replaced, with the added bonus that it doesn't get stuck as soon as it rains or gets a bit muddy. In fact, it was consistently getting pulled out by Land Rover's that inspired me to buy one. Noseweight of 140kg is handy with a big van as well.

As you can probably tell I'm very happy with it (nothing's broken yet!) and would certainly recommend the TD4 for towing.

Do you have the blue 8 pin connector??

If so you either need a convertor (think I may have one somewhere), or you heed to change the lead for a 10 pin to round DIN type plug (Have one of these also)
