depending on kit used ,you often need old shims as well ,often after a few miles some can be removed ,genuine parts would shim easier as parts are better more accurately sized,but its no issue

I ordered the kit through Paddocks spares. Looked legit. But it only came with four shims varing in size.
So the wooden piece goes inthe bottom section of the upper swivel mount. Then the shims then the upper swivel piece.
One more question? What torque would you suggest on the Swivel mount itself. How hard should it be to pull it side to side?

check you only have one thrust washer fitted and bottom bearing race and top bush fully home,you need to add shims to make housing move easier . 8 to 10 lb with seal not fitted,ps you can use the old shims as well

Okay I ordered a ton more just to make sure I don't have to deal with the idea of missing some when I go to the other side. And I tore the axles apart about 2 months ago, I have no idea where those other spacers are..LOL Always when I need parts is when they go missing. I have a ton of pics that will be uploaded, just have to load two at a time.
I also bought a Spring balance, Think thats what its called. Should be here tomorrow, then I can finish these axles. hooray.

Has anyone ever tried britparts gaiters for the front axle. Don't do it. Had to do so much customizing of the rubber. The only good thing about the kit is the glue. Dries really quick. Thank The Lord.
Never realized how difficult rebuilding axles could be. Never again that's for sure. Unless I upgrade to lockers. Or maybe a sals front. That sounds good.

I replaced the entire bed of the truck with 3mm aluminum. Adds like 30 pounds to the weight.
