Hello everybody im new here. I bought a p38 2.5 dse about a month ago and all was fine untill about a week ago when I statrted having a cold starting problem. Give it 3 lots of heat and away it goes. It is fine once warmed up. I have checked the heater plugs all were fine (tho I did change them) The heat light doesnt seem to stay on for very long, about 3 orf 4 seconds although there is current going to the heater plugs for about 14 seconds. Is there a fault or do I just need to wait a bit longer after the light has gone out before starting ?

Have a look at the braided leak off hoses, across the injectors and back to the pump.Replace them if they are perished or cracked - they allow air to be pulled in overnight and result in poor starting the next morning.

A Question For The Senior Member : Don't You Think That The Spark Plugs Can Cause This Problem Too ??

The original poster is talking about a diesel - a diesel has no spark plugs

Thankyou eightinavee. This makes sense to me. I did look at the leak off pipes when I replaced the heater plugs and noticed they were perished but didnt have any pipe to replace them with. Will let you know how I get on.
