wot do yooz guys use to cold galvanise yo motors after cleaning back to bare metal?

I have dde-rusted back to good metal, but want to plate the metal prior to priming and repainting.

Have used cold galv paint on parts of our boat trailer, which is often in the sea. It has stood up well, an could now do with anuvva coat after about 3 yrs.

I cant see wot red oxide (Lead) has over Zinc products. They both use the sacrificial anode? principle to protect the steel and a both heavy metal based paints.

Have you tried that stuff, Trewy and is it good?

Wot product did you use, DV?

Galvafroid
Rustoleum

or just Hammerite?

I aint used it meeself, but bin told iss good by someone who used it on their boat launching trailer.

once i replated it, i is gonna respray the areas and then underbody Schultz it. - It wont rot again fur a week or two.

It may seem like overkill, but bear in mind I only use it for offroading, so it gets a lot of mud and muck forced in everywhere - I know - i had to remove it.

The headlights and front indicators had an inch of mud INSIDE them and the underwing areas were caked thick with Salisbury muck.

Arternoon Daft,

Bin to where the boat is and found this what we used.

Fosroc, Galvafroid. We got a 400ml tin for £13.99 from a chandler. Says it is suitable as a primer, so just what you're after then.
