Hi guys,
anyone know if it`s possible to change the coil packs on a 2001 4.0 v8 Thor, without removing the inlet manifold? going to tackle the job over the next few days and it would be nice to know if there`s a short cut... especially as I`ve got all the LPG stuff to get out of the way as well.. Thanks in anticipation...

sorry to be bearer of bad news but no theres not.. theres two bolts that can only be accessed by removal of the plenum air chamber. If you got multi point lpg just make sure you number the plugs, ports and pipes so they refit in the correct order, may get a small hiss from opening pipes but they will not leak. when you refit coil pack make sure all leads are fitted tight, coz you dont wanna have to do it all over again like i did..

Its like Rob says. I too have the LPG and wanted to avoid removing the manifolds, but its a no go. Have a look at my post here, it will give you a good idea of the coil pack fixing bolts.
Third picture shows them quite nicely

Thanks guys, I thought as much but thanks for the pics, it doesn`t look too difficult. I`ll order the gaskets today.... Cheers...
