I'll have a good look at the v5.
Before I got the car it had been kept in a shed for 7 years. This is confirmed on the tax disc. The guy I bought it from used it regular for a number of years before storing it. He bought it from a friend who was a Black Cab Garage owner in London and it was he that did the conversion.
If I can get in touch with this Garage owner maybe he'll have some proof. The conversion is a very good one, it looks very professional. He might have taken photo's of the rebuild and it might have been done before 95.
How much proof do I need?

Chassis number on range rover chassis is on engine mounting bracket so still should be visible. Find the number and have a look at this link to see what year etc

you could write to the DVLA and ask for the history. You'd then see how long the Black Cab Garage owner had it. If you are sure he did the conversion and he had it from pre '95 you'll probably be fine, no reason i can see for it not being legal.
The chassis age is kinda irrelevant anyway. Put a new chassis on yer series now, doesn't change the year on the V5 or the tax status.
