please help

the clutch is engaging about 1 inch from the floor
ive fitted a new slave cylinder bracket
new clutch fitted last year 2000 mls ago
any ideas please

Is the bracket flexing when you press the clutch pedal down? If not then you most likely need to renew the hydraulics.

Not uncommon for a hose to seep or pipe to leak. Are all the unions good? Does it pump up after a few applications or the fluid level down at all? I have the same prob on one of the Minis which only shows up after the winter lay up. It's a seeping link hose off the slave cylinder. It'll bleed up but after a few weeks it's as bad. Must get round to changing the hose.

if its 1.8 petrol.mine was same.bracket was fine so fitted new clutch master/slave cylinder and is fine now,its a easy job to do took about ten minutes worst bit was connecting master cylinder back onto pedal,better with some one helping
