I've noticed that if I take my foot off the accelerator and then accelerate again I get a rather sloppy clunk. I usually drive quite sedately but am wondering if there is too much play somewhere down below? Otherwise car drives fine and even this isn't a problem but it doesn't seem right. Don't expect it did it when new? Does something need tightening up or do i need new bushes somewhere?Thanks in advance for any ideas.
2000 V reg td5. 128k.

check underneath for play ,especially rear rubber doughnut

Check the rear A frame ball joint on top of the axle, this will cause a clunk when taking up drive, stick a crowbar onto it and give it a wiggle, bear in mind its not supposed to move too much

does the d2 have the front hockey stick arms and rear trailing arms. if so check the bushes arm to chassis and arm to axle
