:( further to my V6 head gasket fred. Since I got the damn thing back - it rattles and clonks over normal road surfaces:eek: . You can "feel it" through the seat - rattling varies according to road surfaces and seems to be worse on the "up" direction (bumps not holes). Apart from the obvious bolts not tightened:eek: , any ideas. The Hippo was up on a ramp for over a week with all the suspension drooping:rolleyes: , could this have caused something?

Good you are now mobile again.

I would check anti roll bar and drop links first.

How much clearence is there in the V6 between exhaust downpipe and sump guard and subframe.

I have this problem on the k-series as the engine mounts are not great and causes engine rock causing the exhaust to make contact
 
Ace one LR
just had garage call me - its the o/s bottom anti-roll bar drop link. Apparently seized solid and nacked. Needs to be cut orf!!!!

Any ideas on costs for this - easy peasy job - or get garage to do it?

anyone know the pn and any ideas how to remove it?
 
really easy to fit the drop links iv just done mine allen key hole in the top will be full of **** clean it out with a small screw driver or similar then take the nut off with a spanner all self explanatory when you look at it bottom even easier, you may as well do the roll bar bushes as well, really easy as well get under the car and take the two nuts off and remove the harth shell on the drivers side slip the old bush of new one on and nip it up , the secret to doing the passenger side is to lift up the bonnet look down the back of the engine bay and you will see the nuts and harth shell get out your socket set and very long extension and away you go , if you have a haynes manual dont take of the cars undertray as it says , cost from lr bushes £10 drop links £15 each
 
sorry did not see the sized on bit get it with a grinder no big deal if you cant get a 4" stone on the job find some one with a dremal or try heat you only need to get the nut of as the droplink is not threaded in to the roll bar or strut so just butcher it , one more thing try to line up the new link in the same orientation as the old one this is important
 
it does - went and bought a new one - used the ol' angle grinder to cut off lower nut and - Hey Presto - 2 hours and all done :D
 
To be honest, mate, I spent enuf on this beast (£5K in a year) I aint doin anyfink i dont have to.
Just found out air con - dont work since it came back - GRRRRR!!! :(
 
Crikey thats a lot,

Hopefully its just electrical sensor on the air con.

You should march back to the garage and demand an explanation. If they are reputable they would stand over their work
