Hiya

When I put my foot on the brake when I'm stationery I get a clicking sound from the centre console

If I put my hand onto the autobox stick as I put my foot on and off the brake you get a click, sounds electronic ie a relay etc

Been looking through the rave cd for I'd but can't find it

Was wondering if anyone can identify the part number please for me

Thks again

The clicking with the brake is the brake light relay.

This should then send power to the gear shift solenoid to allow the vehicle to come out of park as it knows that you have your foot on the brake.

Bless you for that

I should call a lot of you guys on here oracles, as u always know the answers and I'm certainly guilty of asking the daftest questions

Thks again and see if I can find the part number , now I know what it is

try the ghd site great info on gaylander parts ...........................sorry bored..........................not sorry ......................just bored lol

Not sure if this is the part number you want. Solenoid 2-4 brake duty THT500040

Do a check on it first it could be the wrong thing altogether

The solenoid on the gear shift is STC4778

It is meant to click when you press the brakes as it releases the shifter to enable it to move out of park.

Hiya

It didn't click for a year and didn't wish to leave it , checked with another couple of freelander owners and there's don't click either

Oh well, will take a pic some time and see if it the same part

Thks again for the number

Gary
