glad it worked mate , whats the hp side up to?

Hi there. The hp side is the other connection just behind (nearer to the engine) still on the back of the compressor. To add to the potential confusion it has exactly the same R12 threaded fitting as the lp side!!!(another reason why I've left the capped 134a adapter on the compressor for the future)
The hp connection with cover and 'tap' with cover on it can be seen behind the lp side in the photos

With a bit of research on the web and tracing the aircon pipes in the engine bay I worked out I was connecting to the lp side before I potentially had exploding aerosol cans to contend with...:eek:

All went well...and it hasn't leaked back out yet. which is a bonus
