....wouldn't go amiss, jumping straight in with a Q, without an introduction is like jumping into bed wiithout foreplay....

My guess could be lose belts, squeaky pulley or tensioner...

Depending on if it s 4.0, 4.6 or a diesel, the diagnosis would be easier....let us know what it is ....a lot of models were built in 2001....
 
Could be the VCU has seized causing transmission wind up resulting in the tyres chirping, more noticable with a bit of lock on.
