Hi, do Land Rover use matching numbers on axles gearbox etc, I have a 110 csw 1993 200tdi. I wondered if it is original as i have just done a vehicle registration check to find it first registered as a 110 van body in 1993. This would mean it has had a very comprehensive rebuild prior to us buying in 2005.

Don't know abput the numbers, but it is common to put windows in a van body, with bits of trim inside etc, and sell it on as a CSW to get more money.

no they dont they all have individual numbers ,the number denotes what they are as well its numerical number

If the DVLA classification is what you are concerned about then quite a lot of station wagon LRs are registered wrong with DVLA. It should be an 'estate' in terms of body type on the V5C, however many (mine included) say 'light 4x4 utility' - which is what other (commercial) LRs have.

The way to find out is if the relevant letter of the vehicle VIN is correct then you have a genuine station wagon. I believe a certain character has to be an 'M' or something if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the replies,the VIN has an M in the correct place to denote It Is a genuine CSW, the details I got from a registration search stating van body were obviously incorrect. Thanks again.

Your VIN should start SALLDHFM7 which is a 200Tdi Station Wagon 5 speed RH drive.
Then it should have KA for 1993
