Hi All, my apologies for what is probably a very basic question but I am not too experienced! So, the channel part for the front door on my defender (1998) has broken and I have a replacement to fit (MWC5019). Before I take the old one off, this has a back plate which attaches to the bulk head with two bolts. Can anyone tell me whether these bolts screw into captive nuts and if not, how do I get at the nuts on the other side? Thank you in advance for any advice.

Pretty sure you just unbolt it, give it a go you will soon find out.

If they feel a bit tight when you loosen them squirt a bit of oil on the thread, do it up a bit then loosen a little bit more. Wind it in and out a little at a time and you should be ok.

Here you go.. wandered out to the motor. Unsure how they are held in place but looks like 1 piece.
