hi,

I have had so many suspension problems (compressor changed, bags changed, sensors changed and now a bloody great big hole in the new one... I am leaking lol!) with the air suspension on my 99 RR that enough is enough I want to change the suspension

I had a quote to change one bag at £300 inc part and labour (local garage in Norway, hate my dealership I bought RR from)and after already spending a fortune on the RR I think changing to traditional suspension is the way forward.

What do you guys recommend, best place to buy and how much? Will the handling on my RR be better, what is your experience with this?

My friend here on the island has changed suspension from air before and is capable to do the job and he has borrowed my tractor and trailer so many times he will do it for free (I love stored up favours hehe).

Please help a lost young lady out

I used this kit when I changed a couple of months ago :-

Best move I ever made - handles far better than when on air
As long as you can live without being able to adjust the suspension height then don't be afraid to change - just be careful which kit you use, some use the Bearmach blue springs and they are far too stiff for a P38
Very easy job to do using the supplied instructions - no more than a mornings work

pesonaly i wouldnt change! but i havent had any major problems yet! and £300 for a bag change, i hear it can be done in 15 mins, that bags £60 to £90 each! they must realy value there skills!

Yes, you are right - it's very straight forward and getting quite cheap now to repair the air system
I thought long and hard and did loads of research before taking the plunge to coils - I am more than happy with the outcome but appreciate that the majority would rather keep air and that's just fine by me
I must admit it is a fine system when working properly

I like the access mode as my Son is disabled and my wife too short to get in at normal height without a struggle, so we would miss it.
Not so for everyone though and I can unsderstand you wanting to change if it's become too expensive.
You could sell off some of the redundant equipment to offset the cost of conversion.
Check to make certain the springs you get are not too hard for you though.

One thought though is when you change the bags you must inflate the system before you drop the car down on the jack or you may crimp the bag and it will blow some time later. Sound familiar?
