Morning, I have recently bought a 2000 TD5 and it has developed a strange locking issue. It is locking itself whenever I go near it. I’m not pushing any fob buttons etc but it keeps locking itself. It stops when your driving but as soon as the engines off it starts again.

Is this just a case of my key fob being knackered?

Have you opened the fob and checked the buttons on the board?

Also, while you are messing around with it. make sure you have the EKA code.

Cheers

Thanks for replying.I don’t have an EKA code so I haven’t checked the buttons yet, not 100% what I’m doing though. But of a novice with these things.

If system is std and not been modified in settings, you will set the alarm off if you try that,

Cheers

You say that your Disco locks everytime you go near it, does that mean it locks even when you don't have the fob in your hand or pocket or when you do have the fob with you?

It’s only when I have the fob with me. It’s almost like the lock button on the fob is permanently engaged and constantly locking the car.

Well, that rules out any external RF influences then. I'd go with @neilly's suggestion that you could have a faulty fob in that case.
