Great, thanks.Just the security ECU that's positioned behind the glove box on the left.
The central locking has never worked because there's an issue with the n/s rear door and it keeps popping fuses and making a buzzing noise when the fuse is replaced. Not bothered about the alarm or immobiliser working but I'd be nice to have remote central lockingWhether the replacement works in your S reg is something else, there must have been some serious modifications to its system to enable the engine start without the ecu or its fob being present in the vehicle.
Just isolate the actuator from the circuit buy unplugging it, if the problem goes away u know whats coursing the issue,The central locking has never worked because there's an issue with the n/s rear door and it keeps popping fuses and making a buzzing noise when the fuse is replaced. Gearbox? Where will we find that in the central locking of a D1?Buzzing sounds like the doorlock motor's little gearbox is seized which will make it blow the fuse.
Had that problem on my previous Range Rover, new door latch fixed it, but you can overhaul the gearbox & motors yourself.
Not sure, as I don't have a D1. As the D1 came after the P38 I have erroneously assumed it has "Superlocking" like the Rangie. There is a mini "geared" box in the superlock mechanism of the Rangie. My assumption was that the same process would probably have been used in a follow-on vehicle. If I am in error, please ignore it and I can only apologise for the mistake.Gearbox?
