Mine was missing the magazine when I bought it, just got a new one, put it in and realised there's no power to the cd changer at all, no eject, nothing.

Any ideas? Similar problems? I have searched but nothing.

Not much detail, but If it's a Philips item in a D1 then the main suppy is the same as the head unit.

Check your are getting the voltage in the units plug iirc it's round, or the data cable is pluged into the rear of the head unit.

got offered a cd changer today and loom i will try and find out what model tomorrow. mates rr went up in smoke selling parts he has left lying around.

Mate? he should give you the player, :) but remember that it must be compatable with the headunit so Philips cd play to Philips headunit, Pioneer to Pioneer etc etc etc, then you headunit must have the facility to be able to control the cd player.

Sorry I thought the selection of model when ur posting would show up.. I'm taking disco 2 es so alpine I believe..

D2 also used Philips, never the less the same applies look for a 12v supply at the head unit and or at the player is the first port of call, your handbook or manual will tell you if it's fused, hopefully it is and a blown fuse is your problem.

I've checked the two manuals to no avail - nothing mentioned about fuses for the changer.

I've whip the head unit out sometime then.
