I have a friend who wants to buy a whole set of replacement carpets for his RRC. Does anyone know a good, sensibly priced source? Or were the RRC ones rudimentary enough that you just need a carpet fitter...

Exmoor trim company..

They get raving reviews, and rightly so.. :)

ah yes, good thinking. I normally think of them as after-market,as much of their Defender trim is upgraded, rather than designed to replace, but for RRC they seem to have positioned it differently

Far from it
The factory carpeting of a Classic was very good with layers of insulation under the actual carpet. The last time I saw genuine products advertised a set cost in excess of £400.
There is a guy who makes these in Danbury, near Chelmsford in Essex & advertises on ebay. The description sounds good, but I've not actually seen the product.

I fitted a carpet set from them into a 1983 2 door..

It was a straight swap with no snipping required!

Asked them when I was looking a while back. Unfortunately, they only had the three door versions.

I found some four door sets at Rimmer Bros, at least in their catalogue. No idea if they still sell those, I only needed the rear foot well and transmission tunnel. And for that the full set was to pricey.

D1 stuff will fit if you come across a tidy breaker
