A few weeks ago, I had hooked up to my caravan and switched on all my lights to check they were working. I walked to the back of the caravan and they were going through a sequence showing each set of lights one after another. I have no idea what I did to produce this result but it was a great help in doing this routine check. Unfortunately, I have been unable to repeat it. Has anyone any idea how to do this?
I appreciate this is an old post, but I know the answer and have posted how to turn on this feature, assuming the loom has it.
It’ll be the tow electric loom. Assuming it’s a 13 pin (maybe 7pin?) and aftermarket installation or upgrade. I installed Towbar and electrics ( Land Rover specific from PF Jones) to my 2008 freelander2 and it came with a self test function - invaluable for solo caravaning.
BEFORE connecting tow electrics to the car and with the car TURNED OFF.
1. Turn on car ignition (don’t start it)
2. Switch hazard lights on.
3. Connect tow electrics plug to car tow electrics socket
Voila! Lights will go through a sequence of:
lights on, hazards, brakes, reverse, fog, pause, and repeat 3 times.

I got my loom from PF. jones, Land Rover specific.
(Anyone know how to enable this on a Range Rover sport 2014, I’ve now swapped to. It apparently has it according to the handbook…
