My range rover classic 1994 has been parked up for a very long time and will not start, and now the bonnet release cable has snapped which makes it all that much more difficult. does anybody know how to get it open without resorting to a tin opener?

stick a jumper pack across from the starter motor and chassis - that should supply power back to the system to open doors etc.

where's the starter motor on a classic? can you get at it from underneath? cos its sounds like his bonnet's shut.
