is it me or is the gear nob for the auto td4 welded on or summit?

trying to get the bugger off and it wont budge, i dunno weather it needs screwing or pulling :doh:

on my L series it is screwed

anybody that deems doing that to an engine bay needs help

If its a Freelander 1 auto, the handle is removed by pulling it. It will suddenly release. Pull towards sunroof.

Just because gimp suits don't come in gaylander size doesn't mean they won't try to make it looked latexed up

It just pulls off, it needs a good strong tug to get it off & it will release suddenly so watch it doesn't hit you in the face (mine did !!). According to Rave it should be in Park before pushing it back on otherwise damage to selector mechinism will result !!.
Should be enough double meanings in there for the tratter boys I think !!

Thats for a facelifted manual, OP's question was about the Auto selector, it's different.
