'97 110 SW and searched high and low over chassis for the VIN number usually fwd offside wheel arch on the chassis. its taken some wear and tear. is there anywhere else Land Rover put them on the chassis or any other way to identify its the original chassis?

The chassis should have a year (last 2 digits) on it as well, but frequently hard to find

It should be there on the drivers side front dumb iron . get a scraper and look harder , if its been tamperd with , ie ground off I'd be a tad worryed .
