Hi gents im new on here i use my disco in the fields a lot quite muddy and get stuck a lot my sisters fella finds this funny as he pulls me out with his tractor this has to stop .
So can i put insa turbo dakar/sahara on my disco and still drive ok on the road also can i do the rear first then the fronts due to cost thanks

Insa turbos are good, reasonably priced tyres. Would you be running the exact same tyre sizes front and rear until you can match all four corners? It's the rolling circumference you need to measure.

you should replace all the tyres at the same time, especially if you are changing tyre sizes. The center diff may complain if you run different sizes on the rear for any length of time.

That's what I was driving at!

I've got Saharas on mine. They are quite aggresive, excellent off road, but they are quite whiny on road. Personally I quite like the noise they make.

Reckon the Dakar's would be a good compromise.

What will you be using them for?.............Oh, just read your first post properly! Well, the Saharas ARE good in the sticky stuff.

The tyre size might be the same, but due to the increased tread depth on the muds, the rolling circumference is quite different from road tyres. My muds [maybe not for much longer, eh Jason?!] despite having the same 'tyre dimension' as my road tyres are hugely different in size.

I certainly would not recommend fitting them to one axle only. Not only is there a possible issue with the centre diff, but I'd be concerned about fitting two differently handling sets of tyres front and back, sounds like a recipe for a nasty spin & accident to me.

Do you really need muds? I wouldn't be happy running my mud tyres on the road all the time. You'd be surprised what you can do with a set of road biased tyres with an appropriate driving technique. Perhaps AT's would be better if you intend to use them on-road too, but want extra traction off-road? I had a set of General AT2's on the 38A and they were great off & on-road, and cheap too!
