damn lol :D:D:D:D thought it was too good to be true.

The fob throws out a unique code matched to your particular BECM, it cannot be reprogrammed. There is a company that claim to be able to clone them though.

i think there is s member here that said they can do that. cant remember who though.

I doubt that, i know someone put a link up to a company who claim to be able to read your fob code and clone a new one. How good they are i don't know. Don't think there is a key involved it's just a fob you get.

Just as a matter of interest, there is someone on Fleabay selling brand new genuine remotes, less key blades but still with the barcode stickers on. Can one of the BECM geniuses on here use the numbers on that sticker to program those remotes into a BECM?

I was told there's only one bloke left at Land Rover who can do P38 keys - if he goes on holiday keys stop being programmed!

well just for a laugh, my mate gave me his key today.

now dont ask me why or how, but i had a scrap key with mine, changed the blade over, new batteries and buttons, opened the car, put it in the ignition and......................

IT STARTED!!!!!!

it now locks on the buttons, and i have a number 1 key again to superlock it.

Many will be surprised with that unless you have been super jammy. :D:D:D

I was under the impression LR order a uniquely made key for your car from HUF in Germany, which is why u have to wait 2 weeks

Seems to be a few stories going around, I heard (from a senior LR tech) that the key system is on an old obsolete computer system writing to a bespoke system for writing the chips and one one chap knows how to use it!

Well it must be your No1 fob that you lost awhile ago!:D:D

If that worked then you've just revealed a gaping flaw with the LR security system. Think we'll need to get more people to try this.

thats a good point. if you can get in the car, you could theoretically drive the car away.

This being a public part of the forum I imagine many more people will
