Er you can fit wot ever ya want , as long as you stick to common sense and practice, I'm a great believer in if it don't work proper then mod it, myself i have a fir cone in the cab if the weathers good then the fir is open, if it is gonna rain then it closes , not high tech i know but a good talking point. . .

I retro fitted an air freshener to the rear passenger grab handle. Looks cool and makes the cab smell like an alpine forest
As for fitting an external temperature gauge it is something I have considered. Like Ming says as long as you're sensible and follow common sense It's a simple enough job. The hardest part of this fit is running and hiding the cables for the sensor. Some cars have the sensor under the wing mirror or behind a bumper (fender) away from direct sunlight. Then all you have to do is draw the power from somewhere.
Have you found a kit to do this job? If so how much and where from?
I guess a horse hair hygrometer would be a nice touch too to measure humidity !!

I use my Freelander as a weather sensor.
In the morning, I look out of the window.
If the Freelander is dry, the weather is good.
If the Freelander is wet, it's been raining.
If the Freelander is frosty, it's cold.
If the Freelander is rocking, it's windy.
If I can't see the Freelander, it's foggy. Or been nicked!

The new bolts haven't done the trick!! grrrr
Back on topic though - I do miss some of the toys off my old motor - external temp. guage being one of them!! We are funny creatures - we know its cold/hot but we have a compunction to know a measure of just how cold/hot it is.
