I am thinking I should have the cam belt on my 2006 TD4 renewed this year. It has done around 44k.

I might be planning a trip to Germany, so think it may be a wise thing to do.

About what price should I expect to pay at a non LR garage in east Kent?

So, I can forget about it then?
The engine runs fine , no rattling or any other unwanted noises.

If I go to Germany, I want to limit the chances of a breakdown although I do have European breakdown cover with Green Flag.

Should a cam chain ever be renewed if there are no problems with it?

I want to avoid any unpleasant disasters.

I don't remember any post on here where one had broken .
It should be good for 200,000 plus miles .
The auxiliary belts are 96,000 miles .
Start with a full service & include the gearbox , IRD & rear diff oil change .

Great. I was expecting a large garage bill this year, but less to do now.

I can do the oil changes myself, and probably the belt changes if they are the same as a normal car.

Thanks for the replies....
