97 300 tdi - Should the C pillar have a drain hole? One of mine has and the other not... both sides had new wheel arches cobbled on by previous owner.

Nope, they are only in the (A) pillar as that is where the drain tubes for vehicle fitted with a sunroof are.

Our D1's have all had drain holes at the base of the B posts as well.

The holes in the B post on my disco have rubber plugs, just as it left the factory so I wouldn't call them drain holes. As I don't have any rust that's where the cavity rusproofing for the pillar was injected, maybe who knows.

My new arches that I welded in recently both have 1/2" holes that i thought were drain holes.

Best I weld the buggers up then :doh:

If you've got them then flaunt them

Will stop any condensation forming and rotting out the bottoms. Was thinking of drilling some in when I eventually sort my new panels out.

Or will it cause rot where water mud etc gets thrown through the hole from the tyres as its right above the wheel???
