As title. Problem became apparent after a wade and appears to be coming from the off side front somewhere but I can't tell as its so damn loud and I don't want to leave it doing it for too long. I'm thinking the compressor is down there somewhere?

I had exactly this problem when I picked my TD4 up after a service. It's caused by one of the guards under the engine being refitted incorrectly and rubbing on the compressor pulley. Took the garage under a minute to put it right.

I had the same noise......told that the whole compressor was covered in s***e and was fine afta a good clean...thought the compressor was buggered ...phew!!
