My wife's TD5 drivers seat has burnt a hole in the leather....is it a new seat job or can you simply buy a new piece of leather for the bottom pad (and fix the faulty element at the same time)?
It's way too cold for a cold arse in the mornings!

I'm sorry that I can't provide you with an answer to your question but I am slightly curious about how this happened?
Was it while your wife was driving
and if yes, did she not notice it was getting hot

I've read of companies that can repair small holes (cigarette) type burns in leather, you may find them advertising in Classic car magazines. From the pictures I've seen repairs are almost invisible.

That's exactly why we need to know the rough size of the hole-cigarette sized ones are easily fixed.

Wife said she felt a 'hot spot' under her right cheek so put her glove there until she got home (she felt it just as she was coming back to the house so drove maybe 5 mins with it like this...she didnt even consider switching it off :doh:
Mind you, her defence was you dont expect the seat to be melting!
Anyhow, its about the size of a small cigarette burn, so nothing huge, just bloody annoying. I need to repair the heating element too, so any advice welcome there too.

There are professionals who do this sort of stuff, try googling for one in your area. Alternatively, there are repair kits you can get such as these Leather Repair Kits - Do it yourself leather repair products for furniture auto just about anything leather or vinyl
