found a broken/cut wire under the expansion tank on my 4.6 P38. its a small white with red stripe wire that goes into the bigger block connector of the 2 underneath the expansion tank. any ideas what it does?

Can't help with your problem but I have been looking for (free) wiring diagrams without success. I did come across this Download Land Rover Workshop Manuals, Download Range Rover Service Manuals, Download Range Rover Repair Manuals

I might have to bite the bullet and buy one

think it may be pink/red which is something to do with engine control module! strange as i havent had any problems to talk of in that area!
il get it reconnected and see what starts working ?

right, i repaired the broken wire and made good another that looked a bit suspect, wow!
the sport function on the auto box now makes a big difference, it kicks down so much easier, i dont have to press the throttle no where near as much as before!
its a lot more "nippy" and responsive that it was before, amazing difference!!!
