Bought a very nice low distance the other day that had a knock in the motor.I thought it was the flywheel so pulled the gearbox and horror of horrors! Dam crankshaft sheared at front of no 1 big end fillet!
Spoke to agents and they claim to not have sold a new crank, so contacted BMW and similar response. The car has not been in a prang,and the bearings are as new.Why'd it break and why won't big L/R consider help?

how old's the car?

It's only done 137,00 kms and is a 2004 model! Very dissappointing but havefound another crank so am busy rebuilding, Cheers, Gruntygrant.
