Yaaaar
Broke down on way to to work.
I believe it's the lift pump, engine has one of them ****part ones. :mad:hope it's nothing worse.

:Cry: :Cry::Cry:

Lift pump.......sounds like the craftsman blaming his tools :D:D

Are you out in the middle of no-where, or near human habitation??

, yeah yeah.:D

I am home now, a very very nice man saved the day:D:D

He tried everything to get er running proper, but ended up towing me, which was brilliant of him.

I have fuel starvation, there is a restriction somewhere in the feed.
Attached jubilee clips to a couple of pipes, that were without clips, not sucking in air there.
By passed my fuel priming bulb mod.
By passed the fuel filter, still not woking.
Put the fuel pipe from tank in a jerry can of derv, still no work.
Air line on the fuel delivery pipe, still doing it.

I have a priming bulb inline between lift pump and fuel filter, and just before it gets sucked flat, you get a misfire, then fuel bulb squishes flat, suggesting blockage between bulb and tank.

Either i have some mank in the tank that keeps attacking to the end of the feed pipe, or I have a blockage in the lift pump.
I can try lift pump with spare I have on the 19j engine.
I will change the pipe between lift pump and tank.
If still have the same issue I will have to drain tank and wash out:Cry:

I had the forklift keys and store keys anorl:doh:
Luckily i had managed to limp within a mile of work, what a morning:mad:

I recommend Delphi lift pumps. They usually have a removable head which you can unscrew to get to the pumps internal filter. Mine got pretty clogged after a few months so I'm glad I can clean it out unlike on the cheaper ones.

Where do they stock em, in debbum? I need one for a disco 200tdi:D:D

Had to order it online.

Land Rover Range Rover 200TDi Fuel Lift Pump DELPHI - JGS 4x4 Land Rover Parts

I see its a bit different than the ones for 300tdi's. not sure if you can get to the filter inside on that one.

Bums, cheers, I am gonna, try me old TD lift pump just to be sure it is that.
If you hold the priming bulb you can feel the lift pump pumping, but soon as you give the throttle some, it wont have it, smokes like a goodun and starts to die.
Summin is blocking me line, whether it lift pump or not. wont know till I change it:D
Cheers I will order that later:D:D

My old Transit did this and it was the injector seals that go between the engine and the injector. Rotted to buggery :(

Just changed the lift pump, replaced the pipe from tank to lift pump and changed the fuel filter.
Works now! sorta, when revs are at full, its misfires slightly.
I know what the problem is now, a ton of faeces in the tank.
Loads of bits of debris, that are clogging up the filter on the way in.

I just hope, when I by passed the filter, none of that junkk went into the IJ pump:Cry:
Seems fine now, but will definitely gum up again if I don't clean the tank out.
Bah that's a job for the week end, fek doing it now. also got an oil leak now from lift pump:mad: so defo a job for weekend.
other than that, the conversion has been a success:D:D
