was quoted £75 to get it recored, ended up buying a new orginal part from a place 400 yards down the road for the corer for about £80

totally agree totally ****part ,have had a lot of issues with there **** this year.. febuary
3 starter motors from them all crap ended up with a bearmach one in may had a new petrol exhaust manifold when fitting it cracked the inlet manifold(did give me some compo as they admitted it was machined wrong)fitted second hand in the end,in july fitted some of there grey parabolics (read load of b*******s)needed a replacrment front(free) one after 2 weeks as it was hitting the chassis and lost all it,s strength and now after having yet another failure in the spring dept i decided to order a new set of standards from paddocks they came friday just gone,come to fit them today and pulled the packing tape off and guess what they are bloody britpart,come to fit the fronts this morning and guess what the f******g locating pin is to big to fit in the locating hole in the axle casing...to say p******d off is not an understatement. i have sent them an email today i do not expect a response...
could well be planning a little trip to craven arms and wrapping them round somebodys head,how the hell do they get away with this crap..£160.00 for the parabolics which have done less than 2000 miles and are f*****d on the front,£138.00 for standard leafs and they do,nt b*****Y fit
i need a drink and thanks for letting me vent some form of frustration and anger out...god help em monday when they are all back at work,the,ll love my telephone mannerism

Oh dear. Ive just bought grey parobolics and gas shocks from pads last week but not fitted em yet... How come there fooked after 2000 miles??

G-Man.. try hanging your pairobollocks under your series and mount a gas shock to your shaft, They wont stay pink for long
My little experience with Brit-parts.
Just got some standard series 3 road springs and all the "U-bolts"
My and my mate spent 3 hours fitting the front ones he was just doing up the last U-bolt and i was setting up the torque wrench when there was a big bang and a u-bolt Nut went pining past my foot.
It had stripped off the thread and fooked the U-bolt.
Quality parts NOT.
We are in two minds about taking the 3 New u-bolts we have on and replacing them with the original U-bolts which look to be much Superior standards.
The point here is that you should be carfull when choosing high stress parts.

This stuff shouldn't be for sale. What if your U bolts all went on alright and then failed at speed! It takes the **** that they should be able to sell this ****e. Absolutly unbeleivable (Not that a U bolt from Britpart failed) that there allowed to carry on sell substandard rubbish that puts peoples life in danger. Ok in the case of Yella's rad being a ****e fit it anoying but is it going to take a suspension or brake component failure that causes a vehicle to wipe out a path full of people before any thing is done?
thats all fine and dandy, but what if the part was ok and whoever tightened it, did so to the extent they surpassed the strength of the 'u' bolt.. i bet they didn't use a tork wrench on it and just kept going, probably with a huge bar on the end of the rat****.This stuff shouldn't be for sale. before yer start condemding stuff yer need to find out why it broke. in the case of 'u' bolts i've seen folk with 3ft bars going at them. in the mistaken belief that tighter is better.
at the same time the best way to remove old rusted 'u' bolts is to use the 3ft bar and just kept tighten them till they snap.

Could be the factor in some cases but Mr Clivees said he was using a torque wrench. I also speek from experience when I say they shouldn't sell their parts cos the amount of parts that I have had from em that either dont fit (Springs) are a poor fit which involves bodging it to fit (Never good) or just fail way sooner than they should. Ive had their discs and pads which were fitted to a manual disco normal everyday use with no towing (Didn't get the chance) and within about 2-3 months were warped and squeeling. Now have Landrover pads and discs which have been on for a year and a half with no problems and have towed the caravan for about 1500miles of their life. Its no good saying well they were cheep tho. So what! their breaks for stopping a 2 ton car! They should be upto it but arn't.
