Evening all,
I'm nearing the point in my rebuild where I need to start ordering parts; but I have a dilemma... Do I buy the Britpart version of LDF500180COM (£344.63 incl VAT), or should I spend an extra ~£180 (£522 incl VAT) on the AMC Spanish version from Turners?

Alternatively, do any other companies supply complete cylinder heads?

Thank you,

Chris

not sure that's a complete one is it? you could always do bare with above or LDF500180

The problem with bare is that I then have to buy all of the parts and find someone to assemble it, which I'm guessing will cost more than buying a complete head?

no ive fitted hundreds, though you run a slight risk with any new part even genuine , have you found cause of failure ie poor rad ,low coolant etc

The only damage I've found so far is the melted piston, scored bore, cooked injectors and melted head gasket. Coolant level was ok, rad appears fine and turbo came back with no problems.

The engine was smoking for a while before it went pop; actually since the inlet manifold gasket failed, so my only other thought is that I might have put too much oil in when I topped up after the leaky gasket.

I'm still slightly nervous about not knowing the exact cause, but I'm replacing as much as possible in hope of covering all possible issues!

check rad all over core for even temp when running again ,depends on whether piston damage is overheating or poor injector cause
