Quick question; my mate has a td5 disco auto and I have a td5 disco manual.

He has 2 breather pipes from the transmission and the front axle and I seem to have only one.
Does the manual gearbox has a breather pipe as well?

Both are facelift D2

Yes, the R380 has a breather as well as the LT230 transfer box. The Auto box should have a breather too, it is clearly shown in RAVE on page 799.

thanks Peter, I could see the breather on the Autobox in RAVE alright but didn't see it for the manual box in RAVE.

I will start looking which breather is missing on mine so.

Page 690, in the Lubrication paragraph it is mentioned.

Page 697, Para 27 and picture above it.

They both normally pop up alongside the clutch master cylinder.

R380 breather is banjo-ed onto rear transmission case part number FRC9430.
